Welcome to the HIS Aquatics ProgramThe HIS Aquatics Program is a vibrant and ever-growing part of our school community. From Early Childhood Education (ECE) through Upper School, every student experiences swimming as part of their curriculum. But the journey doesn’t stop there.

Our extra-curricular aquatics offerings are diverse, exciting, and designed to inspire. Whether your child dreams of racing in international meets or simply wants to build water confidence, there’s a place for them in our pool.

All aquatic activities take place in 'The Wave', our state-of-the-art 25-meter swimming facility. With seating for over 100 spectators, it’s the perfect venue for training, competition, and community events.

HIS Dragons Swim Team

The HIS Dragons Swim Team is a year-round competitive program that combines fun, challenge, and growth. While the team is inclusive and welcoming, selection is based on skill level and commitment. Swimmers are grouped by division and ability:

• Lower School: Yellow & Blue
• Upper School: Gold & White

Dragons compete in a variety of meets throughout the year - primarily in Hangzhou and Shanghai, with select invitational events across China. For the 2025–26 season, team members will also have the opportunity to attend two international meets, expanding their horizons and experience.

Learn To Swim

Our Learn to Swim program is the heart of our developmental pathway. It’s designed to build essential swimming skills, water safety awareness, and confidence in a supportive environment. Grouped by age and readiness:

• Lower School: Tadpoles & Learn to Swim
• Upper School: Swim for Fitness

Whether your child is just starting out or preparing to join the Dragons, this program lays the groundwork for lifelong aquatic success.

Beyond the Lanes

HIS Aquatics goes beyond traditional swimming. Students can explore:

• Artistic Swimming
• Water Polo
• Scuba Diving
• ILTP Lifeguard Training

These offerings provide unique opportunities to develop teamwork, creativity, and leadership in the water.

Led by passionate and highly qualified coaching staff, the HIS Aquatics Program thrives thanks to the dedication of our swimmers, the support of our families, and the backing of our school. Every season builds on the last, with new goals, new achievements, and new memories.
