DOS Letter to HIS Families March 26, 2020
Dear HIS Families,
Yesterday, we submitted our formal application for campus reopening to the Hangzhou Education Bureau (HEB). The application details prevention and control measures that we have planned on reopening. Once we receive feedback (and hopefully a campus opening date), we will make any modifications and communicate these to the HIS community. Until we reopen, E-learning will resume on March 30 and continue until each grade level is allowed to return to campus.
HIS is closed from February 03 until further notice under the force majeure direction of the government
As mentioned last week, we will be conducting training with all staff and faculty on the approved protocols for prevention and control of COVID-19. In a continuation of efforts to prepare our campuses for the eventual return of our faculty and students, we have contracted the services of a professional ventilation (HVAC) maintenance company to provide a thorough disinfection protocol on our campus. Their service will clean all air filters and diffusers, while utilizing an industry-leading sterile sanitizer, throughout the system. In addition, they installed ultraviolet disinfection lamps for air-conditioning systems and have tested that all systems are back online and operating. This process of disinfecting the ventilation systems is in line with the government requirements. It maintains our pledge meet and exceed measures needed to support a healthy and safe campus.
One of the requirements for arriving to school is for parents to check for flu-like symptoms and check the temperature of their child(ren) before going to school. We therefore recommend parents to ensure they have acquired a thermometer (we recommend an infrared no-contact thermometer). Students will need to have their temperatures read before boarding a school bus and before walking into school. HIS has acquired enough infrared thermometers to take student temperatures twice daily (once on entering and once before lunch).

As always, please let your child’s teacher know if you have any queries about his/her learning and contact your child’s Principal if you have questions about the E-learning platform. We take all suggestions, concerns and questions seriously as they help us improve our support and implementation of E-learning for each individual student.

昨天，我们已经向教育主管部门递交了杭州国际学校2020年春季开学前后的疫情防控工作方案，希望会很快得到他们的回复批准开学。一旦最终方案得到批准，我们就会跟大家分享。在我们正式得到开学许可之前，线上教学会继续进行。也就是说，从下周一，3月30日起，线上教学继续展开，直到我们每一个年级都可以回学校上课为止。
在不可抗力情况下，按政府指示：
杭州国际学校校园自2月3日起关闭，开园日期另行通知！
在开学之前，我们会对所有的教职员工进行新冠病毒防疫培训。为了孩子们重回校园作好准备，我们聘请了专业的公司（HVAC）对全校的通风设备作全面消毒，包括空气滤芯的清洗和消毒。另外，他们也会对大型空调系统安装紫外线消毒灯，尽早完成测试并进行试运行。通风系统的消毒过程均符合政府要求。有了他们的帮助，我们更有信心可以遵守我们对家长的承诺，守卫校园安全。
一旦学生可以回校上课，为了校园安全，我们将会要求家长每天早上先检查一下孩子的体温，看看他们有没有任何感冒的症状，一切都没问题再送来学校。我们也建议家长在家里准备一个无接触试的体温计方便自用。同时，学生在上接送车之前需要接受体温检测，不坐接送车的学生在进校门之前会接受体温检测。学校已经准备了足够的体温检测仪，来完成每个学生及教职员工做体温晨午检记录工作。
