DOS Letter to HIS Families April 03, 2020

Dear HIS Families, 

Our application to reopen the HIS campus has been submitted and we anticipate an inspection of our prevention and control plans very soon.  Until we reopen, E-learning will resume and continue until each grade level is allowed to return to campus.  

HIS is closed from February 03 until further notice
under the force majeure direction of the government

As you know, the Chinese borders are closed to all foreigners.  Unfortunately, this means a number of HIS families will need to wait for this closure to be lifted.  That said- over 85% of our students are in Hangzhou and 99% of our faculty and staff are ready for the restart.  While you may hear of many international schools having many families and teachers outside of China, HIS is in good shape and has been actively planning the campus reopening.  During this week, the faculty, staff, operations, guards and nurses will complete a training program for the reopening and prevention and control measures.  A modified version of the narrated PowerPoint will be sent to parents and students and posted at the following webpage:

上周我们已经向教育主管部门递交了杭州国际学校2020年春季开学前后的疫情防控工作方案，但还在等待他们进一步的检查安排。线上教学会继续进行，直到可以回校为止。

在不可抗力情况下，按政府指示：
杭州国际学校校园自2月3日起关闭，开园日期另行通知！

如大家所知，中国自3月28日起对外国公民关闭边境。这使我们大家庭的一些成员无法回到中国。到现在为止，我们85%的学生和99%的老师都已经回到杭州，作好了一切的开学准备。我们同时得知境内有许多国际学校的学生和老师没有能在边境关闭之前回到国内。在大家的支持下，HIS在这一点上控制得很好。这个星期，我们所有的教职员工都完成了相应的操作流程和应急预案培训。稍后会把相关的培训信息分享给家长，请关注邮箱以及以下网页：
