Hangzhou International School PAFA Book Club gather by the shores of West Lake to discuss 'The Alchemist'

For the 2025-26 HIS school year, more than just reading books, the Hangzhou International School PAFA Book Club is aiming to visit various bookstores across our beautiful home city.

On Wednesday, a beautiful autumn morning, the PAFA Book Club members gathered at Pure Era, a renowned bookstore cafe located by West Lake, known for its profound cultural depth, extensive collection of books and breathtaking view.

Immersed in this unique place, club members gathered together over warm drinks and delicious snacks to discuss the book 'The Alchemist', a celebrated novel by Brazilian author Paulo Coelho, which was first published in 1988.

We shared our thoughts and feelings about the book, and how to connect it with our personal goals, as well as quoting the lines we loved the most. Everyone enjoyed the kind conversations and benefited with the inspiration of others.
