- Parents

To welcome the Year of the Horse, Hangzhou International School's PAFA hosted a Chinese New Year Lunch that brought members of our community together. Held at Xianghu Liberty Manor, the event created a calm and festive space to connect and experience Chinese culture.
Parents were warmly welcomed as they arrived and were free to move around and enjoy the activities at their own pace. Some spent time trying Chinese calligraphy, others enjoyed paper cutting, while many paused to look at the calligraphy pieces on display or take photos at the decorative backdrop. The space quickly filled with easy conversations, smiles, and a relaxed festive mood.

As the gathering continued, everyone came together in the foyer for a calligraphy presentation by Laoshi Yonghui, creating a moment of appreciation and quiet focus.
Another special highlight of the morning was the Chinese tea ceremony, beautifully presented by Maggie and her team, which offered a peaceful moment to slow down and enjoy the elegance of the experience.
Following the ceremony, parents enjoyed lunch together, sharing good food and conversations in a relaxed atmosphere. The afternoon continued with a light-hearted lucky draw and an interactive game, adding energy and laughter to the celebration. Each parent also received a small gift, made possible with the generous support of our sponsors.

The event concluded with a group photo and warm goodbyes. It was a simple yet meaningful way to welcome the new year — through culture, connection, and community spirit.
Our sincere thanks goes to the PAFA Social Committee members, and everyone who contributed their time and effort to make this event possible. Thank you as well to all who joined us to celebrate the beginning of the Year of the Horse together.
