Music: Band, String Orchestra, and Choir Class

At HIS, the Band program is the High School performing ensemble for wind and percussion instrumentalists. It offers a challenging repertoire, emphasizing ensemble performance skills and individual growth. Students perform at least two concerts a year, which enhances skills and confidence. The program instills a passion for music, continuous learning through effective practice habits, and creative artistic development.

The String Orchestra program at HIS offers a comprehensive musical experience for students playing violin, viola, cello, or double bass. This course emphasizes three key areas: instrumental proficiency in solo and ensemble settings, music theory encompassing analysis and composition, and historical context. Regular performances foster community engagement, while encouraging personal growth through musical exploration.

The Choir program at HIS explores ensemble and solo singing. Students cultivate vocal confidence, choral skills, and expressive capabilities within a supportive environment. Regular community performances and formal concerts showcase their progress, with opportunities for international choral festival participation.
