University Counseling
The HIS University Counseling team views each student holistically, helping them to discover their strengths, weaknesses, passions, and interests. Your student is more than a number to us. They are a unique individual with a future of their own.
Our team is your child’s advocate, leveraging their expertise to help find the best-fit university for each student. This includes insider knowledge from college admission offices from around the world.
Applying to university doesn’t need to be complicated or difficult, but it does take time. We help students through the process, simplifying and demystifying common myths, with a structured counseling program for G9 – G12.
Starting in 9th grade, our counselors get to know the students and guide them throughout high school with course selection, crafting outstanding essays, writing recommendations, generating the university list, and, most importantly, being the constant advocate for your student, guiding them through self-reflection and resilience exercises.
The HIS University Counseling Team is always available. Always eager to connect university representatives with our students.
About our school: Hangzhou International School is the only English-speaking, full IB continuum school in Zhejiang province. We have 1,000 students from 50+ nations, and our teachers are equally diverse, with 65% holding advanced degrees. Our curriculum is IB and WASC-accredited. Our last graduating class matriculated to 16 unique nations, with 26% attending USA universities, closely followed by Europe (22%), Asia (18%), and then Canada (13%). Our campus feels like a small-town community vibe.
